Promoting Safe and Stable Families Advisory Committee

The Division of Family and Children Services established the DHR PSSF Advisory Committee in 2004 to advise the Division regarding community-based child and family service issues.  A primary state and federal objective is to integrate programs that serve children and families under title IV0B, parts 1 and 2 into a continuum of services for children and their families.  To achieve this objective, the Division desired to obtain the active involvement of those providing child and family services to include state and county child welfare directors or representatives, public and non-profit agencies, and parents.  The continuum represented by the DHR PSSF Advisory Committee includes the full array of child welfare services from prevention and protection through permanency.

The Purpose, Goals and Objectives of the Committee

Purpose
To advise DHR and legislators regarding allocation of resources; help in program planning; training/education; advocacy and communications.

To facilitate on-going collaboration to achieve a more comprehensive, coordinated and effective child and family services continuum.
