DHR Promoting Safe and Stable Families program recognizes the outstanding contributions of agencies and organizations within the PSSF Network with the You Make a Difference and Above and Beyond awards.  In 2005, we began a new tradition, formally recognizing outstanding individuals within the PSSF Network with the Shining Star award for their personal contribution to improving child and family welfare in their communities. 

Nominations may be submitted by anyone associated with any PSSF-supported program. Nominees are limited to those individuals who are key to the planning, delivery and/or administration of PSSF-supported services.  These are individuals who you consider, in their own special way, have demonstrated an uncommon commitment to improving the lives of children and families and without whom their communities would be diminished – they are truly a bright light.

From the nominations submitted, a panel of judges will select two (2) deserving candidates to be recognized at the Symposium Awards and Recognition Luncheon on Friday, April 25, 2008.  

The deadline for nominations is April 11, 2008.  Award recipients will be notified April 18, 2008.
