The Georgia Department of Human Resources spends over $13 million to ensure that
young people have access to afterschool and summer programs. Last year, over
14,000 youth were impacted through funded programs. However, there is still
more work to be done and more support needed in order to reach over 900,000
school-age youth (ages 5-19) in Georgia who are unsupervised afterschool.

Afterschool is not just the responsibility of the government. All of us
have to open our hearts and our community resources to ensure that Georgia's
